Greater Dover Boys & Girls Club Partners with Jobs for Delaware Graduates to hold Dover Job Fair

(Dover, DE. – March 21, 2023) — The Greater Dover Boys & Girls Club partnered with Jobs for Delaware Graduates (JDG) this past Tuesday to host a job fair geared towards providing opportunities for employment for high school students. The event boasted more than 50 employers, all looking to hire job-ready youth.Some of the employers represented were: Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, New Castle County Paramedics, Kelly Education, Food Bank of Delaware, Delaware State Parks and the Delaware Division of Labor. “This was a great community event that brought in a lot of families. We had tables for both our Teen and WOWZERS! programs that received a lot of interest. We’re excited that the event was such a success” says Jermane Duncan, Director of the Greater Dover Boys & Girls Club. Students were able to learn more about available positions, grab applications and ask questions of prospective employers. Over 250 students and their families were in attendance at the fair which the Boys & Girls Club and JDG now plan to hold annualy. “With JDG's first county-wide event attracting nearly 200 participants, we wanted to duplicate the effort in Kent County. Tuesday's job fair had more than 300 attendees from Dover and the surrounding communities. We are grateful for our partners who made the event possible” said Chevonne Boyd, Public Relations Coordinator for JDG.
