Meet Nylah C., a Club kid from our school site at Brader Elementary! Nylah has been attending the Club since kindergarten, and will be a 6th grader this fall. When she isn’t spending time at the Club, Nylah is also an avid dancer and recently showcased her skills at the Brader Boys & Girls Club talent show! Her favorite Club activities are going to the gym and being a helper.
“This year was the best year for Nylah” says mom Lauren. “It’s because Mr. Corey built a fun and educational program that the kids enjoyed. You can see he really cares about the kids and it showed.” A convenient option for before and after care, she feels that the club has taught her daughter responsibility and leadership in an atmosphere that is full of fun.
This past June, Nylah competed in our Jr. Youth of the Year program at the Brader Elementary School Site. After presenting her speech and answering questions from a panel of judges, she was selected as one of two Jr. Youth of the Year winners for her site! As a winner, she represents the very best of what our youth can be.
Brader School Site Director Corey Bennett loved having Nylah in his program this school year. “Nylah has been a great inspiration to the other members at Brader” he says. “Her personality has shined in a lot of them and I know she will be missed by everyone here at Brader. I will always cherish everything that she has done for this club. I wish her the best of luck in her future endeavors and can’t wait to hear her successes.”
The mentors and programs offered at our over 40 locations in Delaware work to help our youth realize their full potential. Nylah is a great example of how extraordinary our youth can be, and we are very thankful to have her as part of our Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware family!
