Club Kid Feature: Meet Levi

The sky is the limit for this star-searching seven-year old! Meet first grader, Levi J., an active and vibrant member of the Milford Boys & Girls Club. Levi’s love for science shines brightly, pointing out that his favorite subject in school is science for the endless topics to learn. His passion doesn’t stop there as his newly acquitted magic kit and space themed room have inspired him to become an astronaut and a science teacher when he grows up. There is definitely a future Neil Armstrong orbiting around our clubs!

When asked what he loves most about the Club, Levi shared his love for his teachers; Mr. Rick and Mr. Ryneer. This brother staff duo bring support and kindness to Levi and all of the Club members. Our staff are intentional about making long-lasting efforts to ensure all Club kids feel safe, respected, and have equal opportunities for growth. Levi’s favorite spaces in the Club are the classroom and the gym. He loves to learn new things and play

lots of fun games with his friends, spaces where he can truly be himself. A playful kid at heart, Levi loves to play dodgeball, tag, and hide and seek with his friends in the gym. At the Club, we provide safe spaces where Club kids can practice teamwork and stay active and energized through physical activity and collaborative educational spaces!

Levi has been a part of many programs in Milford, including the Summer Fun Club where he gets to go on field trips and enjoy a variety of outdoor activities. Levi’s favorite field trip has been the waterpark where he has the freedom to explore and enjoy the water at his own pace, all while staying safe under the eyes of our staff. Through experiences like these, Boys & Girls Clubs provide opportunities for kids like Levi to grow, learn, and stay authentic. Levi loves that the Boys & Girls Club is a place where he can feel more confident, stronger, and happier. When asked why other kids should join Boys & Girls Club, he says “you get to learn a lot here and because of it, it will help you become smarter.” This Boys & Girls Club member is one of the many kids who make our Clubs so special.

The mentors and programs offered at our Clubs across Delaware continue to open doors for young dreamers like Levi by giving them the support, confidence, and diverse opportunities to shine. Levi is one of the many reasons why we are so grateful for our Boys & Girls Club family and how super our Club kids can be!
