Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Receives Highmark BluePrints for the Commmunity Grant

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is honored to be the recipient of a $200,000 grant through Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield’s BluePrints for the Community Grant. Funds awarded will be allocated toward a, statewide, site-base community Behavioral Health Program: Vision, Voice, and Choice.  Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware seek to build staff capacity in the area of trauma informed care and support the ongoing paradigm shift into becoming a trauma-informed organization at locations across Delaware’s three counties. This program will allow Boys & Girls Clubs to support youth in dealing with the many adverse childhood experiences they face by directly offering mental health-related services to our youth, and support for our staff in using trauma informed approaches while working in all aspects with youth and their families.

“We are excited for the opportunity to expand our services to meet the needs of our youth. The behavioral health program will help support the overall well being of our kids, helping to prepare them for the future” says John Wellons, President & CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware.

“Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware and BluePrints for the Community are pleased to support this behavioral health program for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware. It is important that we work together to address the whole health of our young Delawareans and give them the resources they need to navigate social and emotional challenges at home, school, and in their community.” noted Nick Moriello, president of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Delaware.
