Volunteer Spotlight: Foster Grandparents at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware

Foster Grandparents at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware

Throughout the summer over 30 Foster Grandparents are placed at the Boys & Girls Clubs across all three counties.

The Foster Grandparent program is in it’s 50th year in Delaware and places adults 55 and over as volunteers in youth programs.  The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has been a community partner of the Foster Grandparents program for several years.

Every year as the Clubs prepare for Summer Fun Club, students and staff look forward to the Foster Grandparents joining them.  The “Grands” as their called help staff run activities, provide company for students who need a little extra help, and help out wherever they can.

For the sites that host Foster Grandparents, their summer wouldn’t be same without them!
