Oak Orchard Riverdale Boys & Girls Club held its annual Jr. Youth of the Year event on February 28th. Through the Jr. Youth of the Year program, members learn to support and influence their Club and community, sustain meaningful relationships with others, develop a positive self-image, and respect the cultural identities of themselves and others – all the while allowing members to practice and improve their public speaking skills.
Jr. Youth of the Year is a great event to bring parents, Board Members and the community together to celebrate the accomplishments of the participants. Oak Orchard Riverdale Boys & Girls Club would like to thank this years distinguished panel of Jr. Youth of the Year judges:
- Linda Cullen, Unit Board member & President of the Ladies Auxiliary at Indian River Fire Company
- Mike Trestka, Master Corporal of Delaware State Police, Troop 4 and Community Resource Officer
- Karen Wheeler, Manager for Gap Factory Store
- Lori Johnson, Family Therapist at Long Neck Elementary
Congratulations to all the 2018 Jr. Youth of the Year participants and the 2018 Jr. Youth of the Year Winners, Cayla G. and Trenton P.
