This year’s participants were Jake D., Nathan W., Inmer C., Brandi L., Yelena S., and Leighann S. The nominees for this year’s program had to submit a one page essay about what makes them happy, what they are good at doing, what they have learned at the Club, and what the Club means to them. The nominees also worked hard on completing an “All About Me” portfolio.

The nominees gave extraordinary speeches for a panel of 5 judges. The judges were; Detective Joseph Melvin of the Georgetown Police Department, Linda Price Branch Manager of Fulton Bank, Anthony Williams of First State Community Action Agency, Russell Hickman Jr Manager at Chipotle Mexican Grill (Rehoboth Beach, DE), and Alison Grove Preschool Teacher at Little Red School House. The judges arrived before the event to meet with the nominees and ask them a variety of questions to help them determine the nominees ability to have dialogue with others. The event also recognized two of their Jr. Junior Youth of the Years who also wanted to participate by giving a speech, Precious H. and Chase L. The event concluded with the announcement of the two winners; Jake D. and Yelena S. Congratulations to all the Junior Youth of the Year finalists. You make our Club proud!
