On November 20th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware was lucky enough to be a part of the 36th Annual Nor Enterprises Turkey Drive. After an eventful morning handing out turkey’s to seniors living in Wilmington, the caravan of volunteers drove South to the Western Sussex Boys & Girls Club, where Seaford Mayor David Genshaw was awarded the “Mayor’s Cup” for having donated the most turkeys of all the mayor’s in the state.
From there the caravan stopped at the Georgetown, Milford, Dover, Smyrna, Greater Newark and H. Fletcher Brown Clubs. It was a long day, but it is something the Clubs look forward to every year. With the donations, Clubs are able to support over 800 members, families, and community members.
Thank you Nor Enterprises for making this possible and helping to teach Club kids about the power of giving back to your own community!
In addition to fostering accountability, the Boys & Girls Clubs also help young people develop leadership skills, a sense of civic duty and an understanding of the value of giving back to their community. Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware looks forward to seeing you for year 37!
