FLETCHER BROWN BOYS & GIRLS CLUB SELECTED TO RECEIVE $50,000 FROM LOWE’S RENOVATION ACROSS THE NATION
Representing, the state of Delaware, the organization is one of 51 Boys & Girls Clubs around the country to receive this grant to create safer spaces for Wilmington’s kids and teens.
WILMINGTON, DE (July 11, 2018) H. Fletcher Brown Boys & Girls Club announced today they will receive a $50,000 grant from Lowe’s to construct a Digital Arts Laboratory at the Club. The grant is part of Renovation Across the Nation, a program between Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Lowe’s that provides one Club in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. with a grant and volunteer support from Lowe’s to complete much-needed improvements and renovations.
The H. Fletcher Brown, one of 43 Club sites across the state, under the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, was selected as the signature Club in the state of Delaware for 2018. As the need to update facilities increases and maintenance costs rise, Lowe’s support will help the Club make critical improvements to ensure the Club remains a safe and inviting place for Wilmington’s youth who need it most.
“This digital arts laboratory will provide our members with access to recording of music, podcasts, and video production. We are excited for them to develop skills in these disciplines that they can translate to the workplace.” John Wellons, President & CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware.
The renovations will begin in September and the Club will be partnering with the Lowe’s store in New Castle to complete the renovation. The Digital Arts Laboratory is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2018.
