Who We Are
For 89 years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has enabled young people most in need to achieve great futures as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Today, 43 Clubs serve over 30,000 young people in Delaware through Club membership and community outreach. Clubs are located throughout all three counties and serve military families in affiliated Youth Centers at the Dover Air Force Base. They provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours. Club programs promote academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles.
“Times of crisis shines a light on the strength of teams, and our team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware has performed extremely well. I am incredibly proud and humbled to lead such a great group. Professionals in every area of the organization have remained calm in a very stressful environment to continue supporting our members.”
– John S. Wellons, President and CEO
WHATEVER IT TAKES FOR OUR YOUTH
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware are responding to the needs of young people and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a part of that response, we have collaborated with local school districts and government agencies to identify what those needs are. For example, we are supporting our local school districts across the state to provide virtual programming to our school-aged children and teens; we have also focused on providing meals to our Club kids and families.
