Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware Statement on COVID-19 virus
Dear Boys & Girls Club Families and Community:
Governor Carney mandated the closing of all childcare facilities and programs. This is part of an effort to focus on providing emergency childcare services to first responders and other “essential” job personnel. Therefore, in keeping with this state government mandate, we will not be able to resume regular childcare services until the ban is lifted. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is elected as an Emergency Child Care Center. Learn More.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is part of a nationwide movement whose mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Due to COVID-19, we have closed our doors, but we are still working hard to do whatever it takes for our youth, families, and communities. We are focusing our attention on the following programmatic areas.
Each Club and School site is tasked to deliver creative and innovative ways to deliver programming to our Club kids and teens. We are supporting parents and our local school districts to strengthen distant learning initiatives.
Each Club is checking in with our Club kids daily to see how they are doing during the school and Club closures. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware recognizes that For children and adolescents with mental health needs, such closures mean a lack of access to the resources they usually have through schools. We want to ensure that our Club kids and their families know firsthand even though our doors are closed, our hearts are still open and what we are doing to provide resources to them during this unprecedented time.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware are distributing “Grab and Go” meals at the following locations: Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club, Claymont Boys & Girls Club, H. Fletcher Brown, Boys & Girls Club, and Laurel Boys & Girls Club.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is providing emergency childcare services to children of essential personnel. There are six Club locations across the State that are open as emergency child care centers.
