Endowments
Endowed gifts are held in perpetuity. A named endowment is created through the establishment of a permanent fund that is professionally invested and managed. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware invests the initial gift and spends only a portion of the average annual investment return. The remaining income is added to the principal. A benefactor who makes an endowment gift today may be confident that it will continue to support its intended purpose in the future.

You can establish an endowed fund by making an outright gift, through a pledge payable over a number of years, or through a planned gift.

Stock
Many people find it attractive to support the Clubs through a gift of stock. When you contribute an appreciated security that you have owned for more than one year to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Delaware, you will receive a charitable income tax deduction for its full market value, and you will avoid any capital gains tax on the increase in value of the stock since you purchased it. If your stock has been held long-term but has decreased in value, it may be more advantageous for you to sell the stock and give cash to the Clubs.

It is important that donors making a stock transfer notify the Clubs so that we are aware of the transaction and the desired use of your gift. Please contact Sharon Biddle at (302) 658-1870 or sbiddle@bgclubs.org.

Each of our Clubs has different needs for donations of new or gently used items. Needs vary based on the time of year and Club location. Please contact your local Club to see what the Club in your community needs. In-Kind Donations receipts are provided.
