HOSTED ITS ANNUAL CELEBRITY LUNCHEON & AUCTION
The Greater Dover Boys & Girls
Clubs hosted its Fourth Annual Celebrity Waiter
Luncheon/Auction on April 1 at the Delaware State
University to benefit the 1,400 kids who attend youth development
programs at the Greater Dover Clubs. Lt. Governor John C. Carney, Jr.
was the event’s honored guest. The event included
a live auction of travel, golf and vacation packages, gardening, home
improvement, "spa" and recreational bundles as well as (2) 12 month Comcast
subscriptions and more!. Well-known auctioneer, Richard Lindale, volunteered
to conduct the live auction. In addition, a silent auction and raffle
was also a part of the lunch entertainment. This
year's Committee Chair was Tim Slavin, of the
Delaware Public Archives, who expects this year's event to break all former
records for attendance and dollars raised for the Boys & Girls Clubs of
Dover. Local "celebrities" acted as waiters and
collect tips from attendees. Jimmy's Grille contributed
a full buffet lunch.
